'Land Based' Holiday Rental:
'Scott Marine Services' can provide additional facilities for activity holidays in Scotland, typically for those that wish to incorporate one or more of the following activities:- boating; cycling; camping; walking; fishing; with the more usual sight seeing aspects of touring Scotland. Often our hotel boat guests from Australia, New Zealand, Canada or the USA, who are visiting the UK over a number of weeks, wish to see more of Scotland than we can provide during a cruise on board Willow. They may wish to inject some additional interest and variety into, perhaps, a further Scottish week of their holiday. As you will have gathered, we
are principally boating folk, but we also own a fully furnished, self
catering, holiday apartment for guest use. The apartment
is centrally
located at Tillicoultry,
nestled at the base of the Ochil Hills about 10 miles east of
Stirling. Just as Private Charter hotel boating on the canals is
all about
using our knowledge to build a cruise to suit the client - we can use
our facilities and knowledge to help build more in the way of a land
based Scottish holiday. Boating will always be on offer, but it's
not a required element. The concept of what we are offering is unusual
- it's not an 'off the peg' package holiday.
We can use our
knowledge of Scotland, and its
attractions, to help clients from overseas (or from England)
plan and arrange their holiday here. Part of that may involve
the
use of equipment from our own resources (camping equipment, mountain
bikes, transportation, OS maps, boat facilities, etc). Of
course
you
may have your own
ideas for inclusion - within reason we will endeavour
to help 'make it happen'. You may wish to just take in the scenery and
atmosphere of Scotland, - or be
very active and 'do loads' - the choices will be yours. You will be
directed to that part of our
sister website which lists our suggestions to provide 'food
for
thought'. Holiday elements that seem attractive can then be explored
and included as part of your holiday.
The cost of such a holiday
will be less than you think. Clients (typically a couple) pay
a 'core accommodation fee' for the self catering furnished
holiday
apartment at Tillicoultry. Alternatively, Willow can be used as a
static (moored up) 'base' either at the Falkirk Wheel, or at Edinburgh
Quay. If Willow is to be used, there will be tariff adjustments to take
into account the non-cruising aspect of being aboard. Whichever base is
used, additional activities or elements are then provided at either 'no
extra charge' (for our own time and use of our equipment), or on
an 'at cost basis' for items with actually incur a third party
cost.
More on our chargings/costings later.
So, if this concept
has aroused some interest, can we suggest you find out more with the
following link to our 'sister website' - there is are simple
